2. Our Services
Putney Plumbers Ltd provides professional heating, plumbing, gas, drainage, and general home maintenance services, including:
- Boiler installation, servicing, and repairs
- Plumbing installations and leak repairs
- Gas safety inspections
- Heating system upgrades

- Bathroom installations
- Emergency call-out services

All work is carried out by qualified engineers, including Gas Safe Registered engineers for gas-related services.

3. Definitions
For the purpose of these Terms:
- “The Company” refers to Putney Plumbers Ltd.
- “The Customer” refers to any person or organisation requesting work or purchasing materials from the Company.
- “The Engineer” refers to the representative appointed by the Company to carry out work.
4. Estimates and Quotes
- The Company is not obligated to provide an estimate.
- Only written estimates signed or emailed by the Company are binding.
- Oral/telephone estimates are not binding.
- Written estimates may be revised if:
- (a) Further work is required that was not visible or anticipated during initial inspection
- (b) The Customer requests additional work
- (c) Material prices increase after the estimate
5. Charges and Payment Terms
5.1 Charges
The total charge consists of:
- Cost of materials supplied (including a standard trade margin), and
- Time spent by the engineer carrying out the work, including travel time to obtain materials
- Charges are subject to VAT unless zero-rated
5.2 Payment
- Invoices are due immediately upon delivery unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Accepted payment methods: card, bank transfer.
- Unpaid invoices may incur interest at 4% above the Company’s bank base rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act 1998.
5.3 Deposits
- Some installations (e.g., boiler installations) require a non-refundable deposit.
- Deposits are non-refundable in all circumstances, including cancellation.
6. Bookings, Cancellations & Rescheduling
6.1 Customer Cancellations
- Customers must give at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule.
- Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice may incur a call-out charge.
- Deposits remain non-refundable.
6.2 Company Cancellations
- If the Company needs to cancel or reschedule due to engineer illness, emergencies, or supply issues, customers will be contacted as soon as possible to rearrange.
7. Supply of Materials and Parts
- Warranty for boilers, components, and parts is provided directly by the manufacturer.
- The Company will assist with warranty claims but is not responsible for manufacturer delays, defects, or decisions.
Customer supplied materials
- If the Customer supplies their own materials, the Company:
- Provides no warranty for these materials
- Accepts no liability for failure, defects, or damage caused by those materials
8. Guarantees & Workmanship Warranty
- The Company provides a 12-month labour warranty for workmanship, unless otherwise stated.
- Warranties become void if:
- The work is altered, tampered with, or repaired by anyone other than the Company
- The system is misused, neglected, or not maintained
- No guarantee is provided for:
- Blocked drains or waste systems
- Work carried out against the engineer’s professional advice
Work completed on old or inferior systems more than 10 years old
9. Liability
The Company is not liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential loss
- Loss of profits, revenue, or business interruption
- Delays caused by third-party suppliers, manufacturers, or external factors
- Pre-existing faults or issues not visible at initial inspection
- Damage caused by misuse or failure to follow guidance
Total liability is limited to the amount invoiced for the work in question.
Nothing limits our liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by negligence
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- Any liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded
Engineers carrying out gas work do so under their own Gas Safe registration, and are responsible for relevant gas compliance.
10. Access and Safety Requirements
The Customer must ensure:
- Safe and reasonable access to the work area
- Clear access to equipment being installed or serviced
- The property is safe for engineers to work in
- Any hazards, asbestos, structural issues, or risks are disclosed beforehand
The Company may refuse to carry out work if conditions are unsafe.
11. Title to Goods
- Ownership of any goods supplied remains with the Company until full payment is received.
- The Company reserves the right to recover these goods if unpaid.
- The Company or its representatives may enter the premises to recover goods if necessary.
12. Customer Responsibilities
The Customer is responsible for:
- Providing accurate information regarding the property and systems
- Ensuring existing systems meet current safety standards
- Obtaining permissions (e.g., landlord approval) if required
- Being present or ensuring access at agreed times
- Paying all charges promptly
